Our Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm course is designed for those looking to develop confident, competent chainsaw skills for tackling larger trees in a safe and controlled manner. Over four intensive days of practical and theory-based learning, you will build on your existing chainsaw knowledge and work towards meeting recognised industry standards.

This course is well suited to forestry workers, estate managers, agricultural contractors and groundcare professionals who regularly encounter trees requiring more advanced felling techniques. All training is delivered to Lantra standards, giving you a qualification that is widely recognised across the land-based sector.

  • Planning and risk assessing felling operations for trees up to 380mm diameter
  • Accurate felling cuts, including the open face and conventional methods
  • Identifying and safely dealing with hung-up trees
  • Snedding techniques to remove branches safely and efficiently

  • Escape routes, exclusion zones and safe working practices throughout

Prerequisites
